FASTag Annual Pass Not Working Everywhere? Here’s Why

FASTag Annual Pass Not Working Everywhere? Here’s Why

FASTag Annual Pass Not Working:
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a FASTag Annual Pass from August 15, 2025. This pass allows private cars, jeeps, and vans to travel on national highways and expressways without paying toll charges for one year or 200 trips whichever comes first.

FASTag Annual Pass Not Working:
To get this pass, users need to pay ₹3,000 for the base year 2025–26. The payment can be made through the Rajmargyatra mobile app or the NHAI website. Once the payment is confirmed, the pass will be activated on the registered FASTag within two hours.

Where is the Pass Applicable?

The annual pass is valid only on National Highways and Expressways under NHAI. However, it will not cover state highways, local body-managed roads, or parking areas. On these roads, your FASTag will work as usual, and normal toll charges will apply.

Some major expressways where additional charges still apply include:

Yamuna Expressway
Dwarka Expressway
Mumbai-Pune Expressway
Agra-Lucknow Expressway
Samruddhi Mahamarg

Key Rules You Must Know

The pass is only for private non-commercial vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans.
It is non-transferable and linked to the specific vehicle and FASTag.
The FASTag must be properly affixed on the windshield.
Vehicles with only a chassis number cannot apply; you need a valid registration number.
Each toll crossing counts as one trip, and a round trip counts as two trips.

The pass is optional. If you don’t want to buy it, you can continue using FASTag as usual. But for frequent travelers, this plan is a good way to save money and time.
