Shilpa Shetty has announced the closure of her Bandra restaurant, Bastian. She shared the update on her Instagram stories on Tuesday. “This Thursday marks the end of an era,” she wrote. “We bid farewell to one of Mumbai’s most iconic destinations – Bastian Bandra.” Shetty said the team is planning a special night for their loyal guests. The event will be filled with “nostalgia, energy, and magic.” Although Bastian Bandra is closing, the Arcane Affair event will continue. It will now take place at Bastian at the Top, a different location under the same brand.
Co-owned by Shilpa Shetty and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, Bastian Bandra opened in 2016 and quickly became known for its high-end seafood and celebrity clientele. The restaurant was widely regarded as a hotspot for elite dining and luxury experiences. Its sudden closure comes as a surprise to many in the industry.
Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra are facing serious legal trouble. Just weeks before shutting down Bastian Bandra, the couple was booked by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). Businessman Deepak Kothari filed the complaint. He accused them of cheating him out of ₹60.4 crore. The money was invested between 2015 and 2023 in Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, a now-defunct company owned by the couple. Kothari claims they misused the funds for personal expenses.

In response, the couple’s lawyer, Prashant Patil, called the accusations “baseless.” He said the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) had already handled the matter in 2024. He also insisted the case involved no criminal intent. “Our team has submitted all financial documents and cash flow statements to the EOW,” Patil added. As the investigation moves forward, Shilpa Shetty’s business faces a major shake-up.
