Mumbai on Red Alert: 14 Terrorists and 400 Kgs RDX Intel Received


Mumbai on Red Alert: 34 “human bombs” were planted in 34 automobiles throughout the city, according to a concerning message sent to the traffic police and the Mumbai Police control center on Friday. The WhatsApp threat message further claimed that 400 kg of RDX will be used in the explosion and that 14 terrorists from Pakistan had entered India.

Here is the full message to Mumbai Police:


“A claim has been made that 34 ‘human bombs’ have been planted in 34 vehicles across the city, and the blast will shake the entire Mumbai. The organisation, claiming to be ‘Lashkar-e-Jihadi’, says that 14 Pakistani terrorists have entered India. The threat message further states that 400 kgs of RDX will be used in the blast.” The Mumbai Police have increased security to investigate the threat message, which is currently ongoing. “Security has been improved throughout the state, and the Mumbai Police are on guard. Police said in a statement that they were looking into the threat from all sides.

Days after a man was caught for making a fictitious bomb threat call threatening to blow up the Kalwa railway station in Thane district, the threat letter was sent. According to media sources, he had called around 4 p.m. on Sunday and rambled incoherently about a bomb threat. A day later, the 43-year-old guy, Rupesh Madhukar Ranpise, was taken into custody when it was reported that he was intoxicated.

Temples in the city were told to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity after the Mumbai Police received information of a similar terror threat in September of last year. Sada Sarvankar, the chairman of the Siddhivinayak Temple Trust, said media, “We have been asked by Mumbai Police to increase the temple’s security and to closely monitor all security arrangements.” Back then, police officers were also told to conduct simulated drills at houses of worship.
