Schools Closed on Sep 6
On September 6, 2025 (Saturday), many schools and colleges across India are closed because of festivals and heavy rains. Telangana: Holiday for Ganesh Visarjan
In Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal–Malkajgiri districts, schools and colleges will remain closed for the Ganesh idol immersion. The state government has announced that to balance the academic calendar, schools will function on September 11 (second Saturday) as a working day.
Uttar Pradesh: Three-Day Break in Moradabad
In Moradabad district, schools will remain shut from September 5 to 7. The holidays include Barah Wafat (Sep 5), Anant Chaturdashi (Sep 6), and the regular Sunday holiday (Sep 7). Classes will start again on September 8.
Punjab: Shutdown Due to Floods
Punjab is facing its worst flood in decades. All educational institutions, including colleges and universities, will stay closed until September 7. They are expected to reopen on September 8, depending on weather conditions.
Himachal Pradesh: Landslides Force Closures
Heavy rainfall and landslides have led to the shutdown of schools, private institutions, and DIETs until September 7. If conditions improve, schools will reopen on September 8.
Jammu & Kashmir: Schools Reopening After Two Weeks
In the Kashmir Valley, schools have been closed for nearly two weeks due to continuous rains and floods. They will reopen on September 8, after safety checks and cleaning of affected school buildings.
Kerala: Onam Break
Schools in Kerala are closed from September 4 to 7 for Onam celebrations. With additional weekend holidays, students are enjoying an extended festive vacation.
