Just a few days earlier, Rohit was in Bengaluru to undergo his fitness test at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence. He cleared the test successfully, an important step in his preparation for his return to international cricket. This has given fans hope that his hospital visit may have been routine or precautionary.

Rohit Sharma has been away from the international field since India’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy in mid-2025. In May this year, he officially retired from Test cricket, closing a memorable chapter in his career. Over 67 Test matches, he scored 4,301 runs with an average of 40.58, including 12 centuries. His highest score of 212 remains one of his most memorable innings.

Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back in action. Both cricketers have not played since the Champions Trophy final in Dubai.
