Group-1 Mains Results: In a landmark decision, the Telangana High Court ordered the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to physically review the Group-1 Mains exam answer sheets and release the results in eight weeks. The court threatened to cancel the entire exam procedure and mandate new exams if the commission did not comply.
563 Group 1 Positions:
The hiring process, which was halted in April 2025 for the 563 Group 1 positions announced by TGPSC. The reason behind the halt was because of the petitions alleging evaluation irregularities. The use of non-Telugu evaluators for Telugu-medium tests and the lack of explicit moderation criteria were among the lack of openness cited by aspirants. Although it permitted certificate verification to proceed, the court had already barred the Commission from issuing appointment letters.

Each script was evaluated by three examiners using a coding system, and the average of the top two scores was taken into consideration, according to TGPSC’s argument. Apart from that, it also maintained the scrutinizing checks and simulated assessments. Petitioners, however, insisted that the procedure was defective and requested a new examination or a manual re-evaluation.
