WhatsApp New Feature Challenges Google Pay and PhonePe

WhatsApp New Feature Challenges Google Pay and PhonePe

WhatsApp New Feature:
WhatsApp has announced several new features for its Business app, aiming to help both small and large companies improve sales and customer engagement. The new updates were revealed at the annual business summit held in Mumbai. These features are designed to make business operations easier, allow better communication with customers, and speed up growth.

WhatsApp New Feature:
Payments within WhatsApp

One of the biggest highlights is the in-app payment option. Businesses can now share QR codes with customers, who can make secure payments directly within WhatsApp. This feature reduces the need for third-party apps like PhonePe, Google Pay, or Paytm. For small businesses, this will be a simple and cost-effective way to receive payments.

In-App Calling

WhatsApp has also introduced calling options for business accounts. Customers will now be able to directly call support teams within the app. The feature will start with voice calls, but soon video calls and voice messages will also be added. This update helps companies provide quick customer support, making communication faster and more personal.

Ads and Marketing Tools

Another major update is the integration with Meta Ads Manager. Businesses can now run campaigns across WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram from a single platform. With the help of Meta AI, ad budgets can be optimized automatically to get better results at lower costs.

New Business Innovations

To help businesses reach more people, WhatsApp is also adding status ads, promoted channels, and paid subscriptions. Large brands like Maruti Suzuki, Air India, and Flipkart have already started using these features to connect with their customers.

Support for Small Businesses

Previously, businesses had to use either the WhatsApp Business App or the Business API. Now, both can be managed from the same number, offering greater flexibility. WhatsApp is also working with several state governments in India to provide citizen services through official chatbots. For example, the Andhra Pradesh government’s “Mana Mitra” chatbot currently offers more than 700 services to over 4 million citizens.

These updates show WhatsApp’s strong focus on making business communication simple, secure, and more effective for everyone.
