Kohinoor Diamond Price:
The Kohinoor diamond is one of the most famous and precious diamonds in the world. It is known not only for its beauty but also for its long history filled with wars, transfers of power, and controversies. The word Kohinoor means “Mountain of Light.”
Today, the Kohinoor diamond weighs about 105.6 carats, which is around 21.12 grams. In 1851, it was displayed at the Great Exhibition in London. Later, it was cut and polished to enhance its sparkle and was added to the Crown Jewels of Britain. Queen Victoria once wore it as a brooch, and it later became part of the crown used in royal ceremonies.
Currently, the diamond is kept in the Tower of London and is part of the British Crown Jewels. Officially, the Kohinoor is not for sale. However, reports estimate that its value could be more than 500 million US dollars, which is nearly ₹8,000–16,000 crore in Indian currency. Because of its priceless cultural and historical importance, many consider the diamond beyond monetary value.
India has often requested the return of the Kohinoor, stating that it rightfully belongs to its land. However, Britain has so far not agreed to return it. This debate continues to be a sensitive diplomatic issue between the two countries.
The Kohinoor remains a symbol of beauty, power, and history. It is admired worldwide, not just for its shine but also for the stories of empires, queens, and kings that it carries with it.
