India’s thrilling victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 was marred by Haris Rauf’s controversial behaviour. The Pakistan pacer taunted Indian fans with a “6-0” gesture and mimicked a crashing plane. While the incident already caused uproar, Haris’ wife, Muzna Masood Malik, fanned the flames with a provocative Instagram story.
In her Instagram Story, Muzna shared pictures of her husband making the “6-0” gesture. Along with the image, she wrote, “Lost the match but won the battle.” Her post sparked an instant backlash, with critics accusing her of supporting provocative behaviour.
Though Instagram stories last for only 24 hours, Muzna’s post quickly went viral. It didn’t take long for Indian fans to notice and compare it with the more dignified posts from other cricketer wives, such as Anjum Khan (Shivam Dube’s wife), who praised India’s victory with grace.
Muzna deleted the story soon after it went viral, but by then, the damage was done. Her message continued to stir anger online, with many questioning her choice to back her husband’s controversial actions.
This isn’t the first time Haris Rauf has found himself in a controversy. In June 2024, a video surfaced where Haris was seen in an aggressive altercation with a fan he believed was Indian. It turned out the fan was Pakistani, but Haris’ reaction was intense. Muzna supported her husband during that incident too, defending his outburst online.
Haris Rauf has become a divisive figure, both on and off the field. While his fiery passion is admired by some, his controversial actions and the support from his wife only seem to add fuel to the fire. Fans and critics alike continue to debate whether their actions cross the line or are simply expressions of passion.
