Zaheer Khan’s cricketing journey has many peak moments, but undoubtedly winning the 2011 world cup would be his peak moment. In that world cup he took 21 wickets in just 9 games, in the same year he was awarded the second highest sporting honour.
Number of wickets
He is the fourth highest wicket taker of Indian team, he has 610 wickets to his name. He is famous for his swing to move the ball both ways off the wicket, and an incredible reverse swinger of the ball. He is also famous for swinging the old ball with some pace on it.
He took 311 wickets in tests in 92 matches, 282 wickets in ODI’s in 200 matches. And 17 wickets in 17 matches in T20’s.
Unique records
Zaheer Khan holds a unique record, he is famous for his bowling to left handers, he dismissed South Africa’s Graeme Smith, Australia’s Mathew Hayden, Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara more than 10 times each. These batsmen are the most feared left-hand batsmen in the history of cricket.

In International cricket, Zaheer Khan was the first bowler to bowl Knuckle Ball, he introduced it in 2011 world cup, he practiced that delivery for a year before using it in the world cup.
Recurring Injuries
