Pathirathri, the new Malayalam crime film by Ratheena, is scheduled to be released globally on 17th October 2025. Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir star in the lead roles, marking their first on-screen collaboration. It will be released in Kerala by Dream Big Films and has been produced by Bency Productions under the directorial spaces of Dr. K.V. Abdul Nasser and Aashia Nasser.
Pathirathri is Ratheena’s second movie as a director after Puzhu, in which Mammootty starred, which received similar praises from critics. In addition, Sunny Wayne, Ann Augustine, Indrans, Harishree Ashokan, Achyuth Kumar, Atmeeya Rajan, Shabareesh Varma, and Tejas are some of the leading actors in this film.
The trailer for the motion picture was unveiled just a few days ago and has already started to resonate with the movie audience. This is a suspense-tinged thriller that creates a promise to be emotional-in-waiting while an investigative probe surrounds the mysteriously events that happen in the ominous thrill of midnight.
It revolves around two engaged officers – Jancy (Navya Nair) and Harish (Soubin Shahir) -who, without their knowledge, have interlinked lives while they’re working a major investigation. Pathirathri promises to provide a fun layered cinematic experience with some synthetic dramatic emotional capacities and other influences related to crime.
Pathirathri has an excellent technical crew on board that includes Shehnad Jalal for cinematography, Sreejith Sarang for editing, and Dileep Nath for art direction. Music is from Jakes Bejoy, who is famous for his powerful and emotional score and has already built a strong sound for the films Thudakkam and Lokam. T-Series already took the film’ soundtrack for a record deal.
Pathirathri is thus perfectly positioned in the next class of intriguing and thriller Malayalam movies to look forward to in 2025 due to its fantastic narrative and interesting performances with impressive visual storytelling capabilities.
