If you missed investing in gold or silver when their prices shot up, experts say there’s still a chance to earn big profits. According to market analysts, copper could be the next metal to see a massive rise in value.

Over the past year, gold and silver prices have increased sharply. The price of 10 grams of gold has reached around ₹1.3 lakh, while silver now costs nearly ₹2 lakh per kilogram. Last October, gold was priced at ₹75,000 for 10 grams and silver was around ₹85,000 per kilogram. That means both metals have seen more than a 60–100% rise in just one year.

Now, experts predict that copper might be the next major investment trend. The reason behind this is the growing demand for electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and green technologies across the world. All these industries use copper in large amounts. As a result, global demand for copper is expected to increase rapidly in the next two to three years.

Currently, copper trades at around $8,000 per tonne. Analysts expect the price to reach as high as $12,000 per tonne by the end of this year. This means that investors who start investing now could see strong returns in the future.

How to Invest in Copper:

Many investors are not familiar with how to invest in copper. However, those who know the commodity market can invest through MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange) by buying copper futures contracts. This allows investors to benefit from copper’s price movements.

Another option is to buy shares of companies involved in copper mining. These companies can offer indirect profits as copper prices rise. Though India currently has no ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) dedicated only to copper, there are metal ETFs like Mirae Asset Nifty Metal ETF that include copper along with other metals such as zinc, aluminum, and steel.
