Telangana Bandh Tomorrow: Various BC groups have intensified their movement demanding 42% reservation for BCs in Telangana. The ruling Congress party has extended full support to tomorrow’s statewide bandh, giving the agitation unprecedented momentum. PCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that there is no question of backing down on the issue of BC reservations.
Support has also come from the main opposition parties, BRS and BJP, as well as from the CPI and several Maoist-backed groups. With almost all major political forces uniting for this cause, the growing strength of the BC movement and the importance of the reservation issue have become clear.
The bandh is expected to be widely effective across the state tomorrow, as political parties, Left groups, and social organizations have all expressed their support. Schools and colleges, both private and government-run, are likely to remain closed. Transport services and commercial establishments are also expected to shut down in solidarity.

This bandh, organized to achieve 42% BC reservations, is seen as a significant turning point in Telangana’s socio-political landscape. The strong backing from all major parties highlights how seriously the state is viewing this movement for BC justice.
BC JAC President R. Krishnaiah has called for a successful Telangana bandh on October 18, urging all BCs to participate actively. “This bandh is not for individuals but for the rights of all BCs. Everyone should take part and ensure it remains peaceful,” he said. Congress, reaffirming its long-standing commitment, has once again declared its full support for the BC associations’ call for 42% reservations.
