Indian Railways Night Travel Rules: Important Things You Must Know

Indian Railways Night Travel Rules: Important Things You Must Know

Indian Railways Night Travel Rules:
Every day, millions of passengers travel by train across India. To make their journey more comfortable and peaceful, Indian Railways has introduced several new rules, especially for night travel. These rules are designed to ensure that all passengers can rest properly and travel safely during the night. If you often travel by train at night, knowing these rules is very important otherwise, you may face problems or even fines.

Indian Railways Night Travel Rules:

Indian Railways has made strict rules to make night journeys peaceful for all passengers. These must be followed after 10 PM:

1. No Loud Music or Noise: Playing songs loudly on speakers is strictly banned. If you want to listen to music, you must use earphones so that others are not disturbed.

2. No Loud Conversations: Talking loudly on the phone or with fellow passengers after 10 PM is not allowed. It helps others sleep peacefully.

3. Light Control: Main lights in the coach should be turned off after 10 PM. However, passengers can use their personal night lamps or reading lights near their berth.

If these rules are ignored, railway authorities have the right to issue fines or take strict action against passengers who disturb others.

Important Safety Tips for Night Travellers

When you travel at night, keeping your belongings safe is equally important. Follow these simple but useful tips:

Use Lockable Bags: Always use bags with zippers or locks. It is better to chain your luggage under your berth to avoid theft.
Keep Valuables Close: Important items like money, documents, and ID cards should be kept with you instead of in your luggage.
Carry a Power Bank: Your phone battery might run out during long journeys, so having a power bank can be very useful. Avoid charging your phone far from your seat.
Book in Advance: For long-distance night journeys, booking tickets in advance is always safer since last-minute seats are often unavailable.

Following these simple railway rules and safety measures will ensure that your night journey is peaceful, safe, and comfortable. Indian Railways’ goal is to give every passenger a smooth and secure travel experience, especially during nighttime journeys.
