Siddu Jonnalagadda: Siddu, Raashi Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty acted in a film under Costume designer turned Director Neerja Kona’s “Telusu Kada”. The film opened to a mixed word of mouth from critics and audiences.

Siddu is taking himself too seriously?

Siddu Jonnalagadda is a writer and an actor. This is an advantage and can be a negative thing because the film is one man’s vision and that man is the director, he takes the idea from the writer and tells that story in his perspective. 

Siddu the writer

Generally writers are too intense and their stories are filled with their own life experiences. So when someone like the director takes that soul and rips it apart to make the film this can hurt their sentiments. 

So naturally Siddu is a writer who wants his materials to be according to his ideologies and the point the material is trying to convey shouldn’t get lost in the process of filmmaking. 

Jack, Siddu Jonnalagadda first shock

Siddu’s previous film ‘Jack’ under Bommarillu Bhasker’s direction failed miserably at the box office. The film did not even register the minimum opening at the box office, this was a shock to everyone because Siddu’s “Tillu Square” grossed more than 100 crores at the box office. 

Whatever happened with Jack is completely under Siddu’s shadow, because he took complete responsibility for the film when it bombed at the box office. He said that idea excited him but in the execution the film failed completely. 

Siddu’s film journey

Siddu Jonnalagadda started his career as a side character, then he grew with each step from playing one of the leads in RGV’s “Ice Cream ‘2’ and Praveen Sattaru’s “Guntur Talkies”. 

Then he got his first chance to act as lead in “Krishna and his leela” under Ravikanth Perupu’s debut film. This became a huge hit on OTT. Then he acted in another romantic comedy film “Maa Vintha Gaada Vinuma”, both of these films worked well on OTT platforms… 

Tillu, the big break

Siddu Jonnalagadda is born to play DJ Tillu on screen, that character is tailor made to his personality and it worked wonders at the box office. The slang and dialogue delivery of that character is completely Siddu’s forte. 

So far this character appeared in two films, both these films became huge hits at the box office. But apart from this character Siddu’s film did not work, there may be a lot of reasons for any individual film to tank, but Siddu is a powerhouse talent and there is something in his approach that has to be altered so that his films other than Tillu can work at the box office.
