Mathew Thomas back on screen in the lead for Nellikampoyil Night Riders, his maiden directorial venture under celebrated editor Noufal Abdullah. Slated for theatrical release on October 24, the thriller is a horror-comedy promising to pack in spells of fantasy, humor, and suspense. While cinephiles have already started bubbling with excitement, the film boasts a fascinating production house by Abbas Thirunavaya, Sajin Ali, and Hamsa Thirunavaya under A & H S Productions, and it is entirely anticipated to enthrall large crowd numbers of all ages.
One funny incident that Mathew Thomas shared during this recent interview with Pelly Mani was on having an encounter with actor Thalapathy Vijay while filming for movie buffs’ favorite filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s blockbuster – ‘Leo.’ “Thar had Vijay sir and I for my first shot in Leo. I wasn’t very familiar with driving at that time. So I was afraid that if at all something happened to him, I’m up s**t creek,” he recalls again laughing. “Everything turned out well; we had a lot of jocks while shooting, even to the point that Lokesh sir joked he’d start shooting only after we finished with laughing.”
Mathew puffed lightly at the mention of Leo 2, saying he doesn’t have any idea and playfully rebutting the question.
Nellikkampoyil Night Riders also featured other actors Meenakshi Unnikrishnan, Abu Salim, Rony David Raj, Vishnu Agasthya, and Roshan Shanavas. Already chart-toppers, the songs of the movie – “Fight the Night,” “Kaathal Ponman,” and “Bhootha Ganam” – were bundled under the music rights conferred to T-Series South.
With breathtaking visuals and powerful music, the film also incorporates a mystical storyline set within the village of Nellikkampoyil, delivering what is sure to be a breathtaking theatrical experience weaving fear, laughter, and fantasy perfectly.
