Roshna Ann Roy: The scandal engulfing Malayalam cinema after actor Ajmal Ameer found himself in a social media storm around the alleged private chats and call recordings involving women, has raised a new controversy. Screenshots and audio clips that have reportedly gone viral across social media platforms in the last few days are said to have featured the actor. Ajmal, in his defense, stated that all the material in circulation was generated using AI technology. But his statement has since been contradicted by many, including actress Roshna Ann Roy.
To Ajmal’s claims of AI interference, actress Roshna Ann Roy, better known for Oru Adaar Love, delivered a vitriolic response. She put an Instagram story saying, “So much whitewashing! Just checked my inbox and there it is- the brother’s AI message!” Accompanying her caption, Roshna uploaded a screenshot of a message purportedly from Ajmal, thereby indirectly suggesting that the messages were genuine and not AI-generated, as he had earlier claimed. Her counter quickly spread across the Internet, with many encouraging her for saying this.
Previously, Ajmal had released a video statement that dismissed all materials making the rounds as a fabrication. “Fabricated stories, AI voice imitations, or brilliant editing cannot destroy my career,” he said. Ajmal made his acting debut in 2007 with Pranayakalam and shot to fame with B. Unnikrishnan’s Madambi, where he played Mohanlal’s younger brother.
As the debate sharpens, Ajmal still claims to be the victim of digital forgery, while Roshna’s public statement has again put the online evidence under scrutiny. With the controversy surrounding AI manipulation and digital ethics getting deeper in Malayalam cinema, the industry and fans are left waiting for one more explanation.
