Most anticipated Indian movies of 2026

Indian Cinema: This year(2025) cinema went through a dull phase in all the industries. Not a single film made a big splash at the box-office and collected 1000 crores. But some films made an impact, Chhaava, Kantara Chapter ‘1’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’. Some regional films also created wonders, in Telugu cinema ‘Sankranthiki vasthunnam’, ‘They call him ‘OG’ made an impact.

Ramayana

This is the most anticipated film in the year 2026 because it is budgeted at 4000 crores. Ranbir Kapoor is playing Lord Ram in the film, Sai Pallavi is playing Sita and Yash is playing Raavan. This is the tale of Lord Ram being mounted on a huge canvas involving a lot of computer effects work. The film is scheduled to release on November 8th.

Toxic

Rocking star Yash is acting in a film under Geetu Mohandass, it is titled ‘Toxic’ a fairy tale for adults. Yash did not appear on screen after KGF chapter ‘2’, so naturally this film is on the news and is the most anticipated film of the next year. The film is scheduled to release on March 19th.

King

Shahrukh Khan is making his action epic under Siddarth Anand, Deepika Padukone and Raghav Juyal are acting in the film alongside Shahrukh’s own daughter Suhana Khan. This film is the most anticipated film, Shahrukh did not have a single release in the past 2 years. Naturally fans of the star want to witness his magic on screen. There is no official release date for the film.

Jana Nayagan

Tamil Super star Vijay’s last film before his full time entry into politics will be H.Vinoth’s ‘Jana Nayagan’. Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol and a lot of stars are playing major roles in the film. It is scheduled for Sankranthi release.

The Raja Saab

Prabhas is acting in two major releases next year, one of them will be Maruthi’s ‘The Raja Saab’. Malavika Mohanan, Nidhi Agarwal and Sanjay Dutt are playing lead roles alongside Prabhas. The film is a horror comedy, this genre is new for the star. The film will be released on January 9th.
