School Holiday Today in Andhra Pradesh:
In Andhra Pradesh, the recent weather update has raised concerns as the state is witnessing heavy rainfall due to a depression in the Bay of Bengal. This weather condition is expected to intensify, particularly in several districts on October 23, 2025. The Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Authority (APDMA) has issued warnings for possible heavy rain in areas like Nellore, Kadapa, Chittoor, and Tirupati, forecasting widespread rainfall along with thunderstorms.
Due to these heavy rain warnings, local authorities have announced school holidays in these districts. Schools in Nellore, Kadapa, Chittoor, and Tirupati will remain closed on Thursday, as per the instructions from district collectors. In addition to the school closures, authorities have cautioned the public to stay alert and take necessary precautions, as the depression in the Bay of Bengal could turn into a low-pressure system, bringing more rainfall and gusty winds in the coming days.
The impact of this weather system is expected to affect fishing activities along the coast. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea until Saturday due to the possibility of high winds and rough sea conditions.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has urged the authorities to remain vigilant, particularly in the red alert zones where there is a significant risk of sudden flooding. He has emphasized the importance of timely communication with the public regarding evacuation procedures and safety measures. Additionally, he has instructed the staff to clear drainage systems and remove any blockages to prevent waterlogging and flooding in rural areas.
As this weather system develops, the state is preparing for extensive rainfall and gusty winds, with the potential for disruption in daily life. Authorities are on high alert, ready to assist with emergency measures as needed.
