Thamma Vs Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Box Office Collections: The post-Diwali box office has turned into a fierce face-off between Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Both films arrived in theatres on the festive week hoping to cash in on the holiday mood, but the midweek numbers tell a different story. Despite heavy promotions and star power, both releases seem to be losing momentum faster than expected.
Thamma, led by Amitabh Bachchan and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, had a solid opening with a ₹24 crore Day 1 collection across all languages primarily driven by its Hindi version (₹23.75 crore). However, the film saw a sharp drop of nearly 25% on Day 2, managing only ₹18.1 crore, followed by a massive dip to ₹0.13 crore on Day 3.
Its three-day total now stands at ₹42.23 crore, which is decent but below expectations for a festive release of this scale. The steep decline indicates that the film may struggle to maintain steady footfalls unless the weekend brings a turnaround through positive word of mouth.
The Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa-starrer Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat opened to ₹9 crore on Day 1. Despite good buzz and youthful appeal, it too experienced a slide, dropping 16% on Day 2 with ₹7.5 crore, and collecting only ₹0.06 crore on Day 3.
With a total of ₹16.56 crore in three days, the film’s performance is modest, especially considering its niche genre and limited screens.

Thamma dominates the numbers, but both Diwali releases face midweek struggles that could decide their final box office fate.
