Bus Fire Accident in Kurnool:
A tragic road accident took place in Kurnool district during the early hours of Friday, October 24, 2025. A private travels bus belonging to V Kaveri Travels caught fire near Chinnatekur village in Kalluru Mandal. The bus was traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru when the incident occurred. Reports suggest that the accident happened around 3 a.m. when the bus collided with a motorcycle.

According to police officials, after the collision, the bike got stuck under the bus and exploded, leading to a massive fire that spread rapidly throughout the vehicle. There were around 40 passengers on board at the time of the mishap. Twelve passengers managed to escape through the emergency exit, while several others were trapped inside and reportedly died due to severe burns.

Local residents noticed smoke and immediately rushed to help the passengers. They broke the windows of the bus to rescue people, but the intensity of the fire made the task extremely difficult. Firefighters and police teams reached the spot and tried to control the flames, but by then, the bus was completely gutted. Injured passengers were shifted to Kurnool Government Hospital for treatment.

Kurnool Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil stated that the accident occurred due to the bus hitting a two-wheeler on the highway. He confirmed that an FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team has reached the accident site for investigation. The police have taken the assistant driver into custody for questioning and have asked the travels management to produce the main driver for inquiry.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He spoke to officials and ordered immediate relief measures for the victims and their families. He also instructed the authorities to ensure that the injured receive proper medical care.

The incident has left the people of Andhra Pradesh in deep shock. Visuals from the site show the bus completely turned into ashes, highlighting the severity of the accident.
