Thamma 4 Days Collections: Initial excitement and positive early reviews had been supported by a good festival advantage for Rashmika Mandanna and Ayushmann Khurranas latest horror-comedy Thamma. The film made ₹25.11 crore on the first day, with benefit accrued from possible holiday rushes of Diwali and good pre-release buzz.
Things started going downhill for the movie as performances began to register visible declines as the week passed. The second day saw around ₹18 crore in collections while ₹13 crore came in for collections on the third day. The fourth day, Friday, saw yet another collection drop as the figure fell to ₹3.79 crore, bringing the India net collection in four days to around ₹59.39 crore.
The report looks nice, however, the drop rate means Thamma might really be challenged from here on with going on for the rest of the weekdays.
As per industry sources, Thamma was built on a whopping production budget of ₹145 crore, including production and marketing costs. For the film to be considered a theatrical success, it must earn at least ₹150 crore net in India.
This means that even after four days, the movie still needs around ₹90 crore more to break even-a tall order, going by the current trend. This weekend now becomes important as it could determine whether the film regains its lost charm or entice family audiences back to the theaters.
Mixed reviews aside, Thamma has continued to receive appreciation for Rashmika Mandanna’s spirited performance and the quirky combination of horror and comedy. Should any positive word-of-mouth from audiences take off, the film may still find its footing in terms of repeat viewings and crowds trickling in on holidays.

Having opened quite well, Thamma, with ₹59.39 crore in four days, now has a rocky road ahead towards profitability. Whether it emerges as a sleeper hit or settles down as an average grosser in the gradual drop will also depend on the adrenaline benefit it derives from second weekend earnings.
