Schools Closed in These States for Public Holiday: Check Full List


Public Holiday Tomorrow: Tomorrow, October 27, Delhi’s schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will be closed in observance of Pratihar Shashthi, also called Surya Shashthi or Chhath Puja. All government offices and schools in the nation’s capital will be closed on this vacation. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta first declared the holiday, and the General Administration Department then released the formal announcement.

In addition to Delhi, schools in a number of other states will be closed on Chhath Puja. Chhath Puja is observed in Uttar Pradesh from October 26 to October 29. Chhath Puja will be observed in Bihar from October 26 to October 28, 2025. Both states’ schools and universities will be closed on these dates. States like Rajasthan and West Bengal celebrate Chhath Puja on October 27. On Monday, schools in these states will be closed.

Is there a Bank Holiday on October 27 in Delhi?

On the occasion of Chhath Puja Public and private banks are closed in some states. It might be little confusing for people in which states the banks are closed. Here’s the detailed list of states where bank is closed on October 27th.

  • Bihar: All over Bihar, banks will be closed on October 27th and October 28th in the evening and morning during the puja.
  • West Bengal: On the occasion of Chhath puja, banks will be closed on October 27th all over West Bengal.
  • Jharkhand: Jharkhand is going to witness two-day holidays on October 27th and 28th on the occasion of Chhath Puja.

There is no official confirmation about the banks being closed in Delhi on October 27th. People are assuming the announcement might be released soon regarding this.
