Heavy Rains in Tamil Nadu: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai has issued a warning for heavy rains in six districts of Tamil Nadu after a low-pressure system formed over the Bay of Bengal.

The system, which is currently hitting the central and adjacent eastern portions of the bay, is bringing strong winds and extensive rains to the area. The most recent bulletin predicts heavy rain in the districts of Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, and Villupuram, along with Puducherry


Heavy Rains on Monday in Tamil Nadu:

It is expected that there will be heavy rainfall on Monday in Tiruvallur, Chennai, and Ranipet. Here, it is expected to see severe downpours. Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Villupuram, and Puducherry are all expected to see heavy rainfall. According to officials, the weather system is a component of a broader circulation that is forecast to get stronger over the course of the following day over the central and northwest Bay of Bengal.

Strict Advice to Fishermen in Tamil Nadu:

The weather department has strictly warned all the fishermen to stay out of the sea. It is expected that the wind speed might go up to 100kmph in the mid-western and northwest areas. In the meantime, wind speed in the southeast, southwest, and central Bay of Bengal might go up to 80 Kmph. Apart from this, people who are residing near the coastal area are advised to be cautious and alert.

According to the sources, the local police and disaster department are preparing for possible floods in the low-lying areas. Teams have already started their work to clear all the issues in the impacted areas, which are on high alert. Several regions of Tamil Nadu have already had above-normal rainfall in the last week due to the northeast monsoon, which has been in effect since October 16. As the system evolves, further information will be sent, according to the weather office.
