Aashan, the much awaited Malayalam film, directed by John Paul George under Guppy Cinemas, released an interesting character poster featuring veteran actor Indrans, causing quite a stir. This dramedy is expected to follow in the footsteps of Romancham and offer a fresh and humorous take on cinema within cinema.
One of Indrans’ unknown features is his strong hand in successfully making the transition from comedy to a powerful, heavy-duty character role, and in this film, he comes again with a novelty in the look that he has sported for the role in Aashan. From the newly out poster, it can be gathered that he is likely to play a character that is very different from the ones he has previously portrayed. However, reports further hypothesize that the story of the movie will deal with the story of a movie being made in a comic way and emotionally.
Earlier, the promotion of Aashan also included a video screening of Indrans in a Kathakali costume at New York’s Times Square, a publicity blitz towards which those abroad received thunderous applause with the Malayali audience.
Aashan marks as John Paul George’s third feature film, following other hits such as Guppy and Ambili. Such strong credentials set high hopes for viewers about the film. It is said to feature over a hundred newcomers who would bring new freshness to the screens.
The project would comprise a strong technical lineup-cinematography by Vimal Jose Thachil, editing by Kiran Das, and sound engineering by M.R. Rajasekharan with music and songs directed by the director himself, with lyrics penned by Vinayak Sasikumar and background score by Ajeesh Anto.
Annam John Paul, John Paul George, and Suraj Philip Jacob all serve as producers for the film, Aashan, which is already anticipated as one of the most exciting Malayalam films of the year. Indrans headlines the ensemble cast, and it includes an acclaimed visual storyteller who excels in telling sincere narratives, with a lot of fun, warmth, and uniqueness of Malayalam cinema once again.
