Telangana State Wide Bandh From November 3: Telangana will observe a State-wide bandh on November 3, 2025, in response to the main call given by the Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Institutions (FATHI). The bandh is basically being held to protest the government’s failure to release ₹900 crore pending fee reimbursement dues to private colleges. With this being supported by thousands of institutions, a lot of speculation has started rising what will remain open and what will be affected during the bandh?

Chronicle: Why the Bandh Was Declared

FATHI convened this emergency general body meeting to address the tremendous financial distress imposed on private colleges across Telangana. The federation stated that out of the ₹1,200 crore pending before the state government in view of Dasara and Deepavali celebrations, only ₹300 crore have been released. If the remaining ₹900 crore are not cleared by November 1 for all private higher education institutions, all of them would resort to the bandh starting on November 3.

The organization has also demanded a clear roadmap for clearing all dues, amounting to ₹9000 crore till the academic year 2024-25, by March 2026 and to ensure that future payments are made timely.

Things Going Closed During Telangana Bandh

Private Colleges: Total closure is expected for all privately owned institutions for higher learning, including engineering, degree, and management colleges.

Administrative offices: Administrative offices of all colleges are expected to remain closed.

Faculty and Student Activities: Regular classes, examinations, and campus events will be postponed or canceled.

Things That Will Remain Open

Government Colleges and Schools: Unless the protests were declared by them, institutions operated by the state might be operating without concerns.

Public transportation and services: Regular services will be unaffected in operations for buses, metro service, hospitals, and essential services.

Shops and Businesses: No prior call has been given regarding shutting down the commercial stores; therefore, shops and offices shall be operating for most of the time.

Word from the Final: Awaiting for the Government to Respond

FATHI has appealed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to intervene before the deadline. If the government addresses their demands before November 1, then the bandh may be called off. Until then, the Telangana region remains on alert with thousands of colleges likely to shut down in protest.
