Bus Catches Fire Near Air India Plane at Delhi Airport’s T3

Fire Accident in Delhi Airport: This afternoon, a bus at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 caught fire when it was parked just meters from an Air India flight. When the bus caught fire close to bay 32, it was empty and run by SATS Airport Services Private Limited, a third-party company that manages ground services for several airlines.


The bus was captured on camera, enveloped in a fierce fire. Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) operations are managed by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), which described the occurrence as a “stray incident” and reported that no one was hurt.

Around noon today, a bus driven by one of the ground handlers caught fire in a stray incident. Our knowledgeable ARFF team on the ground jumped right in and put out the fire in a matter of minutes. At the time of the occurrence, the bus was empty and motionless. There were no fatalities or injuries. Everything is still going as usual. We continue to prioritize the safety of our employees and passengers,” it wrote on X.

Cause Behind the Fire:
According to sources, the SATS is looking into what caused the incident. Additionally, according to the authorities, there were no passengers or bags on the bus at the time.

They stated, “Only the bus driver was in the bus at the time of the incident,” and that there were no injuries. They stated that an examination of the bus would be conducted to determine the cause of the incident.

With its four runways and three terminals, Delhi Airport can accommodate over 100 million passengers a year.
