India Top 10 Richest Districts:
According to the Economic Survey 2024–25, Rangareddy district in Telangana has become India’s richest district with a GDP per capita of about ₹11.46 lakh. This rise reflects the strong growth driven by the IT, biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. Excellent connectivity, advanced infrastructure, and proximity to Hyderabad have also played a big role in its success. Rangareddy is a shining example of how urban expansion can improve local economies.
Next on the list is Gurugram (Haryana), with a GDP per capita of ₹9.05 lakh. Known for its high-rise offices, shopping malls, and global companies, Gurugram is the financial hub of northern India. Yet, it also maintains natural attractions like the Sultanpur National Park, offering a calm weekend escape.
Bengaluru Urban (Karnataka) ranks third with ₹8.93 lakh per capita. Famous as India’s “Silicon Valley,” the district combines technology, green spaces like Cubbon Park, and vibrant city life, making it both innovative and livable.
Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida, Uttar Pradesh) follows with ₹8.48 lakh per capita. Known for modern infrastructure, IT parks, and amusement destinations like Worlds of Wonder, Noida is an emerging powerhouse in northern India.
In the fifth spot, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) has ₹8.10 lakh per capita. Often called the “Mushroom City of India,” Solan is admired for its serene environment and religious sites such as Shoolini Mata Temple.
The remaining top districts include North and South Goa (₹7.63 lakh), known for their beaches; Sikkim districts (Gangtok, Namchi, Mangan, Gyalshing) for their scenic Himalayan charm; Dakshina Kannada (Mangalore, ₹6.69 lakh) for its coastal culture; Mumbai (₹6.57 lakh), India’s financial capital; and Ahmedabad (₹6.54 lakh), the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage City.
