Mass Jathara Vs Baahubali The Epic Box Office: Indian cinema in Telugu had a stunning box office tussle between Mass Jathara, Ravi Teja’s most recent action thriller, and the re-release, Baahubali: The Epic, of the legendary blockbuster this week. Although the films succeeded for entirely different reasons, the four-day collection trends were clearly defined to show who is king at the ticket counters.
Ravi Teja’s Mass Jathara opened with decent expectations and fair buzz, raking in ₹3.1 crore on Friday. The momentum improved further during the weekend because of ₹4.2 crore Saturday and ₹3.15 crore on Sunday, which brought the three-day total to ₹10.45 crore.
But from Monday onward, it only slumped massively. Currently, with ₹1.16 crore on day 3 and an almost negligible ₹0.02 crore on Tuesday, Mass Jathara’s 4-day net stands at ₹11.63 crore (India).
The possibilities of recovery now appear bleak owing to bad word-of-mouth and strong competition. According to trade trackers, it requires extraordinary weekday numbers or overseas support to avoid losses.
The re-release of Baahubali: The Epic has turned out to be an extreme box office phenomenon. It started with ₹1.15 crore on Thursday and exploded into the weekend with ₹9.65 crore on Friday, ₹7.25 crore on Saturday, and ₹6.3 crore on Sunday.

By Monday, the strong collections were still at ₹1.65 crore, having soared over the past four days to create an impressive total of ₹26 crore across many languages. Telugu audiences led this charge, while Hindi and Tamil belts followed, proving the timeless nature of the film.
Where Mass Jathara struggles with its momentum, Baahubali: The Epic continues on even after years since its original release. There is no doubt: content and grandeur in cinema will always trump storytelling by formula.
