Mumbai Monorail Accident: The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) and technical teams from the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd. (MMMOCL) responded quickly after a monorail coach tipped during a system trial at Wadala – GTB Nagar station on Wednesday morning. The event happened close to the RTO Junction in Wadala (East) at around nine in the morning. There were no injuries recorded, and there were no people on board.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade claims that the tilt happened during a technical test and that monorail personnel were on hand to handle the incident. The MFB stated that the situation was under control around 9.25 am after receiving the initial notice at approximately 9 am.
The event occurred during advanced system trials as part of MMMOCL’s continuous technological upgrade program, the company explained in a comprehensive statement. According to the agency, Medha SMH Rail Pvt. Ltd., the project’s designated contractor, is testing the new Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling technology.

How many people were on the Train during this event?
According to the sources, two technical staff members and one operator were on the monorail during this trial run. The monorail agency has clarified that the trail runs are part of routine checkups, and they said that operational safety and public safety are their priority.
