Bank Holiday Alert: November brings several bank holidays across India, and these holidays vary from state to state. On November 5, many states celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima. Therefore, if you need to visit your bank, it’s important to check the holiday schedule in your specific region.
November 6: Bank Holiday in Two States
On November 6, banks will be closed in two states—Bihar and Meghalaya. In Bihar, this closure is due to the 2025 Assembly Elections. The government has declared a holiday to ensure employees can vote and participate in election-related activities. In Meghalaya, the Nongkrem Dance Festival, an annual celebration near Shillong, is being held on this day. As a result, banks will remain closed here as well.
Other Bank Holidays in November
November 7: Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed for the Wangala Festival, a cultural event celebrated in the state. However, all other states will see normal banking operations.
November 8: In Karnataka, banks will be closed in observance of Kanakadasa Jayanti. Additionally, all banks across the country will be closed on the second Saturday of the month, as per the usual schedule.

It’s always a good idea to check your local bank’s holiday list to avoid inconvenience and ensure that your banking tasks are completed on time.
