First Review of Kaantha:
The much-awaited Tamil film Kaantha, starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, is creating high expectations among movie lovers. The trailer was released recently, and fans are eager to witness Dulquer in yet another intense and emotional performance. Co-presented by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films and Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, the film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
During the trailer launch event, actor and producer Rana Daggubati shared his admiration for Dulquer. He said, “Nadippu Chakravarthy Dulquer Salmaan you’ll hear this chant all over Tamil Nadu after Kaantha releases. If someone writes a period story for India, they go to Dulquer first. If his dates are not available, then they go to others. He has always been a dear friend and a true film lover, but after this film… man, I am a fan. What an amazing actor he truly is.”
Rana also revealed that his father was equally impressed, saying, “My father watched the film and said, ‘Dulquer is so good, I can just keep watching him.’”
Set in the 1950s Madras, Kaantha features Dulquer Salmaan as T.K. Mahadevan. The film also stars Samuthirakani, Bhagyashree Borse, Rana Daggubati, and Ravindra Vijay in key roles. The story explores the tense relationship between a legendary Tamil director, Ayya, and his protégé, the rising movie star Chandran.
The trailer teases a clash of egos and emotions when Chandran renames Ayya’s female-centric film Shaantha to Kaantha, sparking a dramatic war between mentor and student.
Originally scheduled for release on September 12, Kaantha was postponed to give space for Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra. The film is now set to hit theatres on November 14, and fans across South India are eagerly waiting to see Dulquer’s powerful transformation on screen.
