Pahalgam: Major Ravi-a star director with a flair for making realistic military dramas-has announced his next pan-Indian project- Pahalgam. The film, apparently, is inspired by two military operations: Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev that glorified the valor and sacrifice of the Indian soldiers.
A pooja was conducted at the Mookambika Temple to kick-start the filming of one more emotionally riveting and action-packed project for Major Ravi. Produced under the aegis of Presidential Movies International Pvt. Ltd., Major Ravi, and producer Anoop Mohan, the film is aimed at paying tribute to the: valor, patriotism, and emotional strength of India’s armed forces.
The speculation surrounding the lead in Pahalgam has been intense, as it has been in all of Major Ravi’s previous projects, whether Mohanlal will be in fact the lead. The two have a string of successful films under their belt including: Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra, and Kandahar, all of which are felt to have challenged the audience in terms of their patriotic themes.
Those in the know regarding the Malayalam film industry, along with the fans of the industry are uncertain if Mohanlal will join. If he does it will, no doubt, increase the anticipation and reach of the film.
Pahalgam is made to be a release in multiple languages targeting an audience in India, according to its makers. The film serves to bridge emotional weight with high-octane action in honor of the sacrifice and spirit of the Indian Army.
Among the many gathered to the launch ceremony were astrologer Jithesh Panicker and director Jayaram Kailas, who bestowed their best wishes upon the team.
The technical crew for the film includes S. Thirunavukkarasu-cinematographer, Don Max-editor, Harshavardhan Rameshwar-music, and Vineesh Banglan-production design. Ronex Xavier is in charge of makeup, Kech Khamphakdee will supervise stunt direction, and Arjun Ravi will lead the second unit camera.
Pahalgam will be Major Ravi’s return to the spectrum of powerful emotional stories full of patriotism that connects to the masses across the nation.
