Cocktail 2: Delhi’s awful weather has caused some delays for one of the most awaited sequels in current cinema, Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania and featuring stars like Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna. The city’s air pollution recently increased so much that security concerns intensified due to a recent unpleasant incident within the walls of the famed Red Fort.
The crew was to start shooting on November 12 and be shooting for seven days across all major locations, including South Delhi, Central Delhi, Old Delhi, and some university campuses. But because of the declining air quality index and unrest within the city, the team is now revisiting their schedule.
According to a source, the decision was taken purely based on the safety concerns. The shoot is not cancelled, just postponed. Depending on pollution levels and the situation, the team hopes to return in December.”
Delhi’s air quality has remained in the ‘severe’ category this month and poses a challenge for outdoor shooting for the cast and crew. Security has also been tightened nearby major landmarks, such as the Red Fort, which creates another layer of restriction for film units.
In Cocktail 2, Homi Adajania returns to cast a fresh eye on his 2012 hit, Cocktail. Though the storyline is being kept a secret, the anticipation from fans of this latest collaboration between Maddock Films and Adajania has been tremendous. Production has now paused its scheduled shoot in Delhi and will now move on to other scheduled shoots until the situation changes.
