Kalamkaval, directed by Jithin K. Jose and starring Mammootty and Vinayakan, much awaited trailer is going to be premiered today at 6 PM. The grand worldwide release is confirmed for November 27. Under the banner of Mammootty Company, Kalamkaval will be released in Kerala by wayfarer films.
Kalamkaval is penned by Jishnu Sreekumar and Jithin K Jose, who venture as co-writers in their seventh production with Mammootty Company. Jithin K Jose, who brought laurel to the company by scripting Dulquer Salmaan’s blockbuster Kurup, steps into the directional demands of this film for the first time. Expectations are heightened as Mammootty returns to theatres after a gap of seven months.
The first song from the film, Nila Kaayum, was released recently and has indeed turned out to be a hit. It has lyrics composed by Vinayak Sasikumar and sung by Sindhu Delsy as the retro-style track result of Mujeeb Majeed. Its nostalgic tone and emotional depth have already made it a favorite among fans.
Kalamkaval evidently has a very efficient technical crew. Faizal Ali is handling the cinematography; Praveen Prabhakar does the cutting; and Shaji Naduvil is handling the production design. The sound design is by Kishen Mohan, while M. R. Rajakrishnan has completed the final mix. The movie sports a U/A 16+ certificate, suggesting intense and mature theme.
The teaser has left-in-context to social media, with the posters, garnering huge applause. The drama is said to be filled with crisp crime drama, letting alone the powerful screen presence of Mammootty fused with the intensity of performance by Vinayakan. Each update enhancing suspense seems to be heading towards making it one among the most awaited Malayalam releases this year.
