De De Pyar De 2 Budget: Ajay Devgn returns to the romantic-comedy zone with De De Pyaar De 2, much-anticipated sequel to his 2019 hit. It will be released on November 14, 2025, and it is directed by Anshul Sharma and co-produced by T-Series Films and Luv Films. This time, the cast lineup looks even stronger with Rakul Preet Singh, R. Madhavan, Meezaan Jafri, Jaaved Jaaferi, and Ishita Dutta joining the ensemble. The original was known for being lustful innocence with age-gap dynamics, while the sequel adds a “bring home to meet the parents” twist with new comedy and emotional undercurrents.
As reported by trade insiders, the estimated budget of De De Pyaar De 2 is somewhere within ₹80–90 crores, thus making it one of the costliest romantic comedies for recent times in Bollywood. Production here costs easily ₹65–70 crores, and on top of this, marketing and promotions would, in all probability, see another ₹12–15 crores added. A further ₹3–5 crores has been set aside for distribution and certification expenses.
A large part of the total expense comes from the payment for the cast. Reports say that Ajay Devgn charges around ₹40 crore, while R. Madhavan takes home ₹8–10 crore, and Rakul Preet Singh nearly ₹4.5 crore. This imparts an aura of high-profile ensemble star power appealing for mass entertainment.
To be on the chart of commercial success, the film must perform exceptionally well at the box office. According to expert predictions, De De Pyaar De 2 should collect about ₹100–110 crore worldwide to reach the break-even point and ₹120 crore and above to be called a hit. A figure crossing the ₹140–160 crore mark would place it in the category of superhit or blockbuster.
While initial advance booking opens modestly at ₹25-30 lakh for Day 1, industry experts feel that numbers would definitely increase over the weekend with healthy word-of-mouth.
The first De De Pyaar De (2019) grossed over ₹100 crore and was a surprise hit. Expectations rise, especially with the sequel coming amidst competition that is going to get stiffer by other blockbuster releases. Its genre-the romantic comedy per se-is rare in today’s action-and-thriller-dominated box office landscape, making it an important test of Bollywood’s ability to revive lighter, family-centric cinema.

In addition, rights for OTT and satellite channels would fetch ₹25–30 crore, which would be a cushion to financial risks. However, the real test will be whether Ajay Devgn’s charm and Madhavan’s fresh entry can draw back audiences to the theatres for a feel-good entertainer.
