Kaantha, the most awaited movie starring Dulquer Salmaan, received quite an impressive response to its preview show. Recently, a special screening was held in Chennai for the press and film media, where the movie also gained a storm of reactions. It will be released widely on November 14.
Written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha is co-produced by Wayfarer Films owned by Dulquer Salmaan and Spirit Media owned by Rana Daggubati. The film will be produced by Dulquer Salmaan, Jom Varghese, Rana Daggubati, and Prashanth Potluri. Wayfarer Films will distribute the movie in Kerala.
Going by the early reviews after the preview show, the film shows Kaantha as having nearly a top performance by Dulquer Salmaan. The film has been described as a timeless classic in Tamil, made with emotion and cinematic brilliance. Other than the above, some excellent performances from Bhagyashree Borse and Samuthirakani and Rana Daggubati have also added to the lavish visuals and powerful music.
Kaantha is set in Madras during the 1950s and tells the story of T.K. Mahadevan, an actor known as “Nadippu Chakravarthi,” played by Dulquer Salmaan. The film tracks the life of T.K. Mahadevan, where the emotions of ego and vengeance will be felt between Dulquer and Samuthirakani over a conflict. Rana Daggubati appears in the film as a policeman, while Bhagyashree Borse is the female lead, Kumari.
