DYK This Express Is Called the King of Indian Railways

King of Indian Railways:

Indian Railways is one of the largest railway networks in the world, and every year, it adds new services to make travel easier and more comfortable for passengers. Among all the trains in India, one train has a special place — the Rajdhani Express. Many people call it the King of Indian Railways because of its speed, services and royal travel experience.

King of Indian Railways:

The Rajdhani Express connects New Delhi, the national capital, with major cities across the country. It was first introduced on March 3, 1969, between New Delhi and Howrah (Kolkata). At that time, the travel time between the two cities was reduced to just 17 hours, which was a big achievement for Indian Railways. It was also the first fully air-conditioned express train in India.

The speciality of Rajdhani Express is that no other train is allowed to overtake it on the route it travels. This shows how important and prestigious the service is. It offers clean coaches, comfortable seats, tasty meals, and well-trained staff. Passengers feel like they are enjoying a royal journey.

Over the years, Rajdhani Express services expanded to more big cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Guwahati. Each route offers a unique experience to passengers.

The Howrah–New Delhi Rajdhani is the oldest and one of the most popular routes. The Mumbai–New Delhi Rajdhani is among the fastest, touching speeds of more than 130 km/hr. Its luxury interiors and quality food make it the first choice for business travellers.

The Bangalore–New Delhi Rajdhani covers more than 2,300 km, yet it maintains high comfort and excellent South Indian and North Indian food. The Chennai–New Delhi Rajdhani is known for its clean coaches and tasty local dishes. The Guwahati–New Delhi Rajdhani passes through beautiful hills, rivers, and green valleys of the Northeast, giving passengers a memorable journey.

With its speed, service quality, and reputation, the Rajdhani Express continues to remain one of the most respected trains in India. For many passengers, traveling in Rajdhani is not just a journey—it is an experience.
