Rani Kamalapati Railway Station was earlier known as Habibganj Station. It opened in 2017 as part of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project. Later, in 2021, it was renamed in memory of Queen Rani Kamalapati. Although Indian Railways owns the station, the Bansal Group manages its daily operations. Because of this partnership, the station has been designed with advanced facilities similar to an airport.

As soon as passengers enter the station, they notice the huge, clean, and air-conditioned space. There are large waiting lounges, high-speed escalators, lifts, modern restrooms, and well-organized platforms. The station also has a food court, shopping area, retail stores, solar-powered lighting, and 24/7 power backup, making travel smooth and comfortable.

One of the biggest attractions is its airport-style design. Travelers can relax in premium lounges, use high-speed elevators, enjoy delicious food, and shop for essentials—all inside the station. It even has a hotel, office spaces, and a super-speciality hospital nearby, making it a complete travel hub.

Rani Kamalapati Station is an important stop on the New Delhi–Chennai main route. Major trains like Vande Bharat Express, Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express, and Duronto Express halt here. Because of the modern setup, passengers enjoy a premium boarding experience and feel much more relaxed compared to regular railway stations.

The station is not only beautifully built but is also very efficient. Automated ticketing systems, covered parking, CCTV cameras, clean platforms, and clear signboards help passengers move easily without confusion.

Due to its huge success, there are plans to modernize other major stations such as New Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai CST in a similar manner.
