Prabhas First Movie Remuneration:
Pan-India star Prabhas needs no introduction today. He is one of the few actors who enjoys massive fan following in both South and North India. With back-to-back big movies in hand, he is always busy, and fans across the country are eagerly waiting for his upcoming films like Raja Saab and Fauji. As Prabhas shines as one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, his debut movie Eeswar has few days back now completed 23 years.
Prabhas made his entry as a hero with Eeswar, which was released on November 11, 2002. Interestingly, he started working on this film even before he completed his formal acting training. Director Jayanth C. Paranjee once shared in an interview how the movie actually began.
During that time, Jayanth was working on Takkari Donga with Mahesh Babu. He had promised producer Ashok Kumar that he would do another film with him. He wanted to make a love story with some action and wrote the script of Eeswar. Because the movie had a mass appeal, he felt that a new actor with a strong screen presence would suit the role better than someone with a typical lover-boy image.
That’s when he heard that Krishnam Raju’s nephew was training in acting. The moment he saw Prabhas’ photos, he felt he had found the perfect hero. Prabhas asked for some more time to complete his training, but Jayanth insisted he should start immediately. That’s how Eeswar began.
The film was made on a low budget of just Rs 1 crore. Surprisingly, Eeswar collected Rs 3.6 crore gross, which was a good achievement at that time. For his first movie, Prabhas received a salary of Rs 4 lakh. Today, Prabhas charges over Rs 150 crore per film, showing how far he has come in his career.
From a small-budget debut to becoming one of India’s biggest stars, Prabhas’ journey from Eeswar to pan-India fame is truly inspiring.
