Cyclone Alert in Andhra Pradesh: Heavy Rains Likely From November 26

Cyclone Alert in Andhra Pradesh:
The Amaravati Meteorological Centre has issued a fresh warning for Andhra Pradesh as a low pressure system is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal on November 22, 2025. According to weather officials, this system may strengthen further and move in a west-northwest direction over the next few days. There is a strong possibility that it could develop into a depression by November 24 and later intensify into a cyclone as it approaches the Andhra Pradesh coast.

Cyclone Alert in Andhra Pradesh:

Due to this evolving weather system, several parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall between November 26 and November 29. On November 26, heavy rain is likely in one or two places. The intensity may increase further on November 27 and 28, with forecasts indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas. Even on November 29, heavy rain may continue in certain regions. By November 30, light to moderate rainfall is expected across coastal districts.

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has advised people to stay alert and take necessary precautions. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea during this period due to rough conditions and strong winds. Authorities are also preparing emergency teams and reviewing safety measures to avoid any major damage or loss of life.

In addition to the cyclone warning, light to moderate rain is expected in several districts over the next two days. On Thursday, districts like Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, and Tirupati may experience scattered showers. On Friday, similar conditions are expected in Krishna, Bapatla, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, and Tirupati districts.

Residents living in low-lying areas and near water bodies are advised to remain cautious, as sudden waterlogging and local flooding may occur. Farmers are also requested to take steps to protect standing crops from possible damage caused by heavy rain and strong winds.

Weather officials continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide regular updates as the system develops. People are urged to follow official advisories and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall periods.

With another potential storm threat approaching, Andhra Pradesh remains on high alert, and preparedness is key to minimizing risks during this critical time.
