What is Uroos festival?
Uroos, also known as “Urs” or “Urus,” is an annual celebration honoring the anniversary of a Sufi saint’s passing. The celebration, which takes place at the saint’s shrine, includes religious rites, processions, and public events. Typical customs include raising flags and reciting religious texts. Depending on the area and the saint being honored, different activities and timings apply.
