Raju Weds Rambai Collection: This small-budget film has now become one of the latest pleasant surprises at the box office. With simple storytelling, down-to-earth humour, and strong regional flavour, the film has gained a decent audience reaction across various centres. With two days completed in theatres, the numbers speak highly of an upward trend, with questions being asked about whether the film crossed the break-even point on Day 1 itself.
In India, the film opened on Friday with a net collection for Day 1 of ₹1.15 crore, which is an appreciable figure for a low-budget film. Day 2, however, was a shocker. Thanks to positive word-of-mouth and tremendous footfalls in semi-urban and rural areas, Day 2 collection jumped beautifully up to ₹2.10 crore (early estimates). We could see that the weaning S-M-A-P-T panelist (Suddenly-Made-All-People-Talk) started approving of this flick and the family crowds were falling into place.
With this, the total two-day collection has reached ₹3.25 crore, making it one of the more encouraging small-budget releases of late. Saturday’s showings suggest an even bigger Sunday, which should take its three-day weekend numbers to highly respectable levels.
Raju Weds Rambai is made on a modest budget, with industry-placed estimations of its making cost sitting in the ₹4 to 5 crore range, above which it would have incurred print and promotion costs. So, after collecting a staggering ₹3.25 crore in just two days, the film looks to have already reached or at least closed in on breakeven. Any further earnings from Sunday onward would probably flow into the profits, confirming this film is a commercial success.

The two days earned strong demands with the wild Saturday uptick making Raju Weds Rambai a true dark horse at the box office. The film found the audience despite its small profile, evidence of great content and local flavour. If trends persist, it would not only break-even but walk away with scintillating profits in days to come.
