Among the most admired performances in modern South Indian film, Keerthy Suresh- Mahanati was among the greatest. Nag Ashwin helmed Savitri’s biographical drama about the renowned actress. Mahanati’s national accolades among the best actresses of her generation and cemented her position as the coveted National Award for Best Actress were much helped by widespread critical acclaim.
Though she has received all this acclaim, Keerthy has recently come forward to confess that unlike Mahanati, she had rather a period after in her life.
Keerthy revealed during a recent conversation that for almost six months following Mahanati, she did not get any film proposals. “No story had been told to me during that time,” she said; “I hadn’t done anything wrong, so I wasn’t frustrated. I assumed all directors might take time to write good characters for me.”
Keerthy transformed that amazing gulf into something good instead of giving way to the silence. In line with the following phase of her career, she turned this time into one of self-betterment and professional reinvention.
Mahanati’s ensemble included Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Vijay Deverakonda. Keerthy’s reading of Savitri is generally regarded as among the best performances in contemporary Indian film, a career milestone if not the defining event.
Keerthy is now watching her forthcoming big release Revolver Rita, directed by J.K. Chandru. The trailer shows her in a very bold, peculiar, action-filled way—one unlike her previous roles. The film promises a unique theatrical experience replete with strong action, comedy, and a renewing visual approach.
Fans and critics suggest Revolver Rita as Keerthy’s turning point should once more she demonstrated skill in parts with strong character-based focus.
