Industry sources say Lokesh Kanagaraj is preparing for his first direct Telugu film. Until now, all his movies were originally made in Tamil, and this shift shows his growing interest in working across different South Indian languages. Though not officially announced, reports suggest that pre-production has already begun with his core team of assistants.
The makers have not shared any details about the lead actor or the plot of LK7. Because of this, fans are eagerly waiting for a formal update. Earlier, there were strong rumours about Kaithi 2 with Karthi, but it now appears that the project is temporarily on pause.
Meanwhile, Lokesh is also ready to make his debut as an actor. He will soon be seen as the lead in DC, directed by Arun Matheswaran of Captain Miller fame. The film is expected to be an intense romantic action drama, with Wamiqa Gabbi starring opposite him. Music will be handled by Anirudh Ravichander.
Lokesh’s most recent directorial was Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. The film told the story of Deva, a quiet man whose life changes after a tragic incident involving a close friend. It included a strong supporting cast and even featured cameos from Bollywood actors.
Though Coolie received mixed reviews, it performed well at the box office and remains popular among audiences. The movie is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
With LK7 likely to be a Telugu project and his acting debut on the way, Lokesh Kanagaraj is entering a new and exciting stage in his career. Fans are now looking forward to what he will deliver next.
