Eko Box Office Collections: Eko has gained sufficient talkability since its release with astonishing word-of-mouth publicity. Nowadays, when the Malayalam audience prioritizes content and creativity rather than star value, the film has geared to prove that a gripping story can receive attention without the backing of aggressive advertising.
Having been released on November 21, Friday, the film enjoyed good momentum during the last part of the opening week. As per the leading tracker, Sacnilk, Eko has netted a collection of ₹10.4 crore net in India within the first six days. Sunday was its largest day, with earnings of ₹3.05 crore, showing that the weekend was strong for occupancy and audience interest.
In gross terms, the India total so far stands at ₹10.7 crore. From the international market, the film has also had an excellent run, collecting ₹5.8 crore. The grand total thus stands at a commendable amount of ₹16.5 crore. Observers of the industry anticipate that, with on-paper occupancies being excellent throughout the week days, Eko will put in a noise vote for an even better second round.
The meet-up of the Kishkindha Kaandam team, which had won both critical acclaim and commercial success, was a major reason for the pre-release buzz on this film. Eko is the third part of Bahul Ramesh’s Animal Trilogy, after Kishkindha Kaandam and the second season of Kerala Crime Files (Search for CPO Ambili Raju). Ramesh’s writing and cinematography are said to take the winning combination forward for the film.
With Sandeep Pradeep, the rising actor, in one of his career-defining performances, other cast members Vineeth, Narain, Binu Pappu, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Biyona Momin provide great support. Mujeeb Majeed, who composed music for Kishkindha Kaandam, is back to make another contribution to the atmospheric tension of Eko.
With an exclusive mystery-thriller viewing experience along praise from the audience as it grows, Eko is set to be one of the finest Malayalam films of the year.
