Does Your Blood Group Affect Liver Health? Shocking Findings Inside

Blood Group Affect Liver Health:
Most people think about their blood group only during emergencies or blood donations. However, a recent health study has shown that your blood group may also give clues about your risk of certain diseases. According to research published in a leading medical journal, people with Blood Group A may have a higher risk of developing autoimmune liver diseases compared to others.

Blood Group Affect Liver Health:

Autoimmune liver disease happens when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the liver. This can slowly damage liver cells and affect normal liver function. One common condition linked to this is Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC). In this disease, the bile ducts in the liver get damaged, causing bile to build up. Over time, this can lead to serious issues like liver scarring (cirrhosis) and even liver failure.

The study examined around 1,200 people, out of which 114 were found to have autoimmune liver disease. Among these patients, a large number belonged to Blood Group A. After A group, other affected groups were O, B, and AB. Interestingly, people with Blood Group B were found to have the lowest risk of developing these liver problems.

This does not mean that everyone with Blood Group A will surely get liver disease. It only shows that they may have a higher risk and should be more careful about their liver health. Early symptoms can include tiredness, joint pain, mild stomach discomfort, itching, or yellowing of the skin and eyes. If these signs appear, it is important to consult a doctor immediately.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle plays a big role in protecting the liver. People, especially those in the higher-risk group, should avoid alcohol completely, as it puts extra strain on the liver. Eating a balanced diet with whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and healthy fats like olive oil can support liver function. Reducing salty and fatty foods is also helpful.

Regular exercise, staying hydrated, and managing weight are simple but effective ways to keep the liver healthy. For those already diagnosed with liver conditions, doctors may also suggest calcium and Vitamin D supplements to prevent bone weakness.

Knowing your blood group can help you understand potential health risks. With proper care, regular check-ups, and healthy habits, liver diseases can be prevented or managed successfully. Staying alert and informed is the key to long-term good health.
