As fans tune into Stranger Things Season 5, they reel out secrets which could lead to an entanglement of the narrative between Will Byers and Vecna, one which transcends the Upside Down. It is theorized by many that Vecna did not simply reckon Will to cast his net, but actually thought that he was somewhat compatible with him.
According to this theory, Vecna (formerly Henry Creel) saw a sort of reflection of his own in Will: Henry was presented as a very hypersensitive, withdrawn child who preferred to be in his imaginative world-on-thwarted characteristics that coincidentally became intertwined with his exceptional abilities later on. Behaviorally, Will fits the same mold. He has been, since Season 1, portrayed as tender, artistic, emotional, deep intuitive.
By Season 5, Will begins to show signs of powers somewhat equal to Eleven’s and those of Henry. The fans say that the difference between the two is timing: Henry realized his powers early and spiraled down to darkness, while Will is only beginning to understand his powers much later on.

Does this link in their pasts give reason why their children’s lives are so wholly enmeshed in the supernatural happenings around Hawkins?
While it may set up the stage for the theory as intentional setup or just fan imagination, it certainly adds an intriguing twist to the fate of Will and Vecna vis-a-vis one another. The last season progresses, and the audience has set their eyes specific on the show to confirm all these eerie parallels-or not so, as the clews might simply be clever misdirection.
