Mammootty’s Kalamkaval: Advanced booking for Kalamkaval, a Malayalam crime drama that will run under the direction of Jithin K. Jose for the first time with Mammootty and Vinayakan as the main casts, shook the ground. The sale of tickets started on December 1, 2025 at 11:11 AM in Kerala, and within minutes, the flick took over the websites such as BookMyShow. In brief, pre-sales in Kerala have set records for Kalamkaval within just two days of the opening of booking, although the response globally is still strong. Tickets are also available on Ticket New and District for the international release on December 5. Under the Mammootty Company, the film is being produced, and Wafarer Films will distribute it for Kerala.
On Monday, a grand event attended by the who is who in Malayalam cinema, including actors, directors, and the cast and crew of the movie, marked a pre-release teaser event. The social networking sites have been flooded with visibility and speculation regarding Mammootty performing on stage with twenty-one leading ladies. This trailer has generated very positive audience reactions because it shows Vinayakan as a police officer and Mammootty as a psychopathic murderer.
Under Mammootty Company, this film is the seventh production, with a screenplay co-written by Jithin K. Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar. Earlier, Jithin created ripples with the story of Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kurup. He is a master storyteller. With the movie getting a U/A 16+ rating, it features a great team including Faisal Ali (Cinematography), Praveen Prabhakar (Editing), and Mujeeb Majeed (Music).
Kalamkaval will be released in Tamil Nadu by those Future Runup Films, which are also known for their Malayalam hit films such Lokah. Global Films is the international distributor partner. Soundtracks and promo interviews of Mammootty and Vinayakan have simultaneously gone viral just before the Jackson movie with great excitement building up already. Mammootty fans seem to be craving the release of the superstar on screen after quite an eight-month absence, and this crime thriller has certainly raised the expectations.
