Thudarum Hindi Remake: Thudarum, the Malayalam film, is supposed to go for a Hindi remake soon. The freshness of interest among the growing fans after this announcement from director Tarun Moorthy continues with talk of some YouTube interviews with Moorthy hinting that superstar Ajay Devgn might lend his presence as the male lead in the Hindi version.
With extensive experience in action movies and his family’s illustrious stunt heritage, Ajay Devgn might just turn out to be the best fit to handle the serious drama and roughness of this film. Moorthy said.
Very early on, Tarun Moorthy posed a question that rose from the creators before Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgan. The number one was, how else does one consider producing a movie of such magnitude in such a small budget, which Thudarum handled beautifully.
He said, besides that, it has been confirmed that the inquiries are coming from Bollywood and Hyderabad as well. The Hindi producers, on the other hand, inquired whether he would like to take on the direction alone for the remake. Since he is really engaged with a few other projects right now, he is now not sure how fast he would even be able to accomplish that. Still, he said, there is indeed some talking taking place; other than that, nothing has moved beyond the negotiation phase.
Halfway thundering down that bumper, Thudarum streams on Disney Plus Hotstar. K. R. Sunil, who penned the story, has made the Rs 232.60 crore movie worldwide. It is the first and only Malayalam movie to break the ₹100 crore mark with revenues of ₹118.75 crore at the box office in Kerala only and the ₹94.35 crore collection outside.
Starring Mohanlal, Shobana, Prakash Varma, Binu Pappu, Farhaan Faasil, among others, the tale revolves around Shanmugham, a popular cabbie whose life is put in jeopardy after his cherished Ambassador was involved in a nasty accident.
Leaving no sections to breathe: engaging cinematography by Shaji Kumar and eerie sound from Jakes Bejoy. Thudarum takes you on the edge of your seat throughout. The very pan India makes this a movie across Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
